Glorified Rice – Glorified Rice serves as a dessert salad in the Midwest, Upper Midwest, and other areas with Norwegian populations in the U.S. In addition, the dish is popular in more rural areas with Scandinavian Lutheran populations.
Green Tomato Pie – Green tomato pie consists of sliced tomatoes and butter, topped with sugar, flour, cinnamon, raisins, or other spices.
Galaxy Mirror Glaze Cake – Galaxy mirror glazed ‘box’ cake is decorated with a shiny, mirror-like frosting resembling stars.
Geode Cake – Geode Cakes resemble quartz crystals or crystallized rock structures. Typically, rock candy is used to make them, and they can come in different shapes and sizes.
German Chocolate Cake – German chocolate cake is a dessert that originated in the United States. The most famous German chocolate cake is the Black Forest cake.

Grilled Apples A La Mode – Grilled apples are the perfect summer dessert! Grill them with sugar and spices when tender, then serve them with melted vanilla ice cream “a la mode.” The late 1890s were the year that Pie a La Mode was born in New York.
Grape Pie – Grape Pie made from Concord grapes is a harvest-time tradition in the Finger Lakes region of New York in the United States.
Grunt – Grunts are stewed fruit desserts served on the stovetop with biscuits or dumplings covered in a Dutch oven or cast-iron skillet. In Massachusetts, a Grunt is called a Slump, while in Vermont and Maine, a Slump is called a Grunt. A New England dish closely resembling British steamed pudding, they were popular during the colonial period.
Gooey Butter Cake – The Gooey Butter Cake is traditionally made in St. Louis, Missouri, with wheat cake flour, butter, sugar, and eggs, usually about an inch high, and dusted with powdered sugar.

Americans began eating strawberry shortcake dessert around 1847, according to food historians. As early as 1588, an English cookbook published the first strawberry shortcake recipe.
Golden Oreo Dirt Pudding – Golden Oreo Dirt Pudding is a simple dessert with delicious flavors, including cream cheese, pudding, whipped cream, and golden Oreos.
Gingerbread Men Cookies – Gingerbread Men Cookies began as an English Christmas traditional dessert in England. It’s adorable as can be. You can use raisins, currants, or cinnamon red hot candies for the eyes and buttons. You can also pipe icing on cookies. Queen Elizabeth, I served gingerbread men to foreign dignitaries at her court.
Grandma’s Pecan Rum Bars – Grandma’s Pecan Rum Bars have that ooey-gooey texture that we all love. There is no better way to end the meal than with candied cherries. Pecan nuts were introduced to North America by Native Americans.
Grasshopper Pie – Retro mint-chocolate desserts like this were a favorite of Southern hostesses during the 1950s and 1960s. Knox Gelatine and Heublein Cordial developed the recipe to promote their products.
Grama’s Cornflake Peanut Butter Cookie – It’s not a healthy cookie recipe, but it will satisfy your sweet tooth.
Green Jell-O Salad – Green Jell-O Salad is also known as Jell-O Salad and is a classic retro American dessert.
Italian desserts that start with G
Gelato – Gelato comes from Italy and is a frozen dessert. In Italy, artisanal gelato generally contains 6–10% butterfat, which is lower than other frozen dessert styles. However, its density and richness distinguish it from other ice creams because gelato typically contains 70% less air and more flavoring.
Genoise – A génoise, or Genovese cake, is a cake made of an Italian sponge that takes its name from Genoa, a city in Italian cuisine. The air is suspended during mixing to add volume to a batter rather than using chemical leavening.
Gianduja – Gianduia or Gianduja is a chocolate dessert containing 30% hazelnut paste, created in Turin during Napoleon’s regency. Besides being consumed in the form of bars, it can also be used as a filling for chocolates. Gianduja spreads are also unique chocolate products.
Gianduiotto – Gianduiottos are chocolate ingots that originated in Piedmont, in northern Italy. Each Gianduiotti is individually wrapped in a foil cover in a gold or silver color. Turin’s specialty, Gianduiotti, comes from Gianduja, a chocolate and hazelnut preparation used in sweets. Commedia dell’arte, an Italian theater type, uses Gianduja masks to portray Piedmontese archetypes. Gianduja’s hat inspired Gianduiotto’s shape.
Granita – Granita consists of sugar, water, and a variety of flavorings. A native of Sicily, you can find it in various forms all over Italy. Although similar to sorbet and Italian ice, Sicilian sorbet tends to be smoother and crystallized.
German desserts that start with G
Gugelhupf – A Gugelhupf has a circular hole in the middle and is traditionally baked in a Bundt mold. It comes in three varieties: cocoa, vanilla with lemon zest, and marbled with both.
Germknödel – Germknödel consists of yeast dough dumplings filled with spiced plum jam and topped with poppy seeds and sugar. However, it is occasionally served with vanilla cream sauce, despite being less traditional. This dessert is an Austrian and Bavarian culinary specialty. It is served as a dessert as well as the main course.
Candied almonds – Candied almonds are nuts explicitly roasted, so they become coated in browned and crunchy sugar. The sugar mixture is heated and then dipped in the almonds, resulting in candied almonds.
Götterspeise – Götterspeise is a German dessert made from gelatin, sugar, flavors, and colorants. In many ways, it is similar to jelly, jello, or other gelatinous desserts.
Mexican desserts that start with G
Gelatina – Gelatina is a popular dessert that street vendors sell outside schools, hospitals, and churches and at traditional markets. These jewel-toned treats are displayed on push carts with glass fronts. In addition, Gelatina is now readily available in bakeries, corner stores, Mexican restaurants, and, of course, at home.
Glorias – Glorias are delightful soft candies flavored with goat’s milk and pecans. It melts in your mouth when you bite into Glorias chewy, nutty milk caramel! Every one of these has a taste of Mexico!
Gorditas de Azucar – Gorditas de Azucar, or sugar gorditas, are Mexican sweet griddle cakes. They are similar to scones or sweet biscuits and commonly topped with butter, dulce de leche, Cajeta, or sweetened condensed milk.
