Total Time 1 hour hr
- 1 large yellow onion
- ½ teaspoon cajun seasoning
- ½ teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon dried parsley
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter melted
Prepare the Onion: Preheat your oven to 375°F. Cut the ends off a large yellow onion and peel off the skin. Hollow out the center using a melon baller or spoon, creating a well halfway down.
Position on Foil: Place the onion in the center of a large piece of aluminum foil on a rimmed baking sheet.
Combine Spices: Mix Cajun seasoning, Old Bay, kosher salt, parsley, garlic powder, and black pepper in a small bowl.
Fill and Drizzle: Scoop half the spice mix into the onion’s center and sprinkle the rest over the top. Pour melted butter into the onion’s hollow.
Seal the Packet: Fold the aluminum foil tightly around the onion to form a packet.
Cook and Enjoy: Bake for 45–50 minutes until the onion is tender and golden. Open the foil carefully, plate the onion, and serve immediately!
