Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 10 cloves garlic chopped
  • 1 medium size onion
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp mirin
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp plum extract
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 3 to 5 green onions chopped
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Instructions

  • Preparation: In a big bowl, mix together the ground beef, garlic, onion, soy sauce, mirin, sugar, plum extract (or apricot jam alternative), and black pepper. Marinating is optional for richer flavor.
  • Cooking Process: Over high heat, warm a wok or a large frying pan, coating it with cooking oil. Add the beef mix, breaking it apart and stir-frying until it is fully cooked and dry, which should take around 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Adding Final Ingredients: Once the beef is sizzling and moisture-free, stir in the green onions. Switch off the heat. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and drizzle with sesame oil, mixing everything well.
  • Serving Suggestions: Serve this tasty bulgogi on your choice of warm rice, cauliflower rice, or quinoa. Garnish with extra sesame seeds and green onions to enhance the flavor and presentation. Enjoy your delicious meal!
